Frequently
Asked Questions:
1. Is the OEM product easy to work with?
The OEM product is great to work with. Just like all of our products, you can cut, drill and route just as standard wood. You do not need to worry about special drill bits or saw blades. Many of our customers enjoy working with plastic lumber even more then working with standard wood.
top2. Who do you typically sell your OEM product to?
Due to the minimum volumes we require, our typical customer is a manufacturer or a distributor. Purchasing our OEM line for use on your home isn't typical, due to the large volumes we require our customers to purchase at one time.
top3. What is your standard OEM length?
Since each order is custom made, we are able to do the exact length that you require within a given set of tolerances. We have fulfilled orders for pieces as small as 6 inches, and completed orders for pieces as long as 52 feet!
top4. Does your product fade?
Unlike a composite decking, which is a wood-plastic blend, our product does not have an ounce of wood in it. Due to the lack of wood, we experience very little fade on our product. Through various testing agencies, we have found that we experience on average 1% to 2% color fade over the first ten years. We consider this fade rate to be almost negligible.
